Support Your Local Death Squad

It wasn’t until this years Dublin Mobb Paddy Ride that I started noticing Death Squad tees and stickers, then I saw the boys from Loser Machine posting photos about rides with the Dago Death Squad. It instantly sparked my interest and I wanted to know more, After searching good ol’ google, I was able to find their website/ blog and myspace page. I’m now hooked to the website and check it everyday, with updates on bikes builds, paint jobs, events, tattoos and mini ramps…I can’t help but be interested. I got in contact with owner/artist Chris Yvon(who also happens to be an awesome tattoo artist) and got a few tees and stickers. The shirts are rad, just super simple and to the point, with simple colors you can’t go wrong, none of that bright colored shit! For more info, check out the Death Squad website here and be sure to check out some of Chris’s tattoo work here.

Awhile back I got an email from a southern california skater named Ryan Donovan. Ryan was on the hunt for a sponsorship from us, but unfortunately we’re not really in the position to be a full time sponsor to someone. But after I checked out his video that he included and saw the insane amount of views on all his other youtube skate videos, I had to help him out somehow. Trust me I know how it is trying to get some kind of sponsors. To me personally, this kid looks way to good to be asking for sponsorship from little companies like us, I can’t believe other companies, bigger ones, haven’t stepped up and helped him out. Anyways, I have always loved skating and watching it, so I was stoked to be helping out a skater, although he’s not sponsored, I told him if he makes sure to stay in touch and spread the word, I’d send him out a care package. Ryan just emailed me this video, stating that he is still in the process of putting a video together strictly for Clazik, but in the meantime check out this one….Props to Ryan, he’s really killin’ it, we’re excited to have him rockin’ some tees!

Greetings from down under

Due to such a huge time change between So. Cal and Australia, I normally only talk to Shane between 5 a.m. and 12 noon here in the states, thats usually between the times of midnight or so there to around 6 a.m. when he is drunk dialing me, lucky me! Anyways he is having a blast and has way to many stories to tell on here, unfortunately though, he broke his collarbone when he under rotated a backflip the second day of practice. As of now he has just been sitting on the sidelines, partying and helping set up. He’s hoping he’ll be better for the last few shows, but really doubts it. Here are a few videos from the first stop in Brisbane.

I guess Im just a hater

I guess professional skateboarder, Stevie William’s brand DGK(Dirty Ghetto Kids) was talking about people like myself when they made there I LOVE HATERS tee shirt. Now don’t get me wrong, I mean no disrespect to anyone who is doing their own thing, I give credit to Stevie for creating a world wide recognized brand such as DGK. It just blows me away to see people, this means everyone, wearing shirts that label them as being a Dirty Ghetto Kid. Since when did it become cool to be dirty, or ghetto? Especially all these white kids I see wearing that stuff, when I personally know for a fact the closest thing they’ve even seen that is ghetto is B.E.T. or their “dubs” on their shiny new truck. It also makes me laugh when you see people who have worked their entire life to be able to get out of the so-called ghetto and provide a better lifestyle and neighborhood for themselves and/ or their family. You wouldn’t ever catch one of them wearing a shirt supporting the ghetto, so why is that people who are from the ghetto, wouldn’t want to be wearing a shirt about being a dirty ghetto kid, yet some white kid from the city loves it? I just don’t understand…… Now don’t get me wrong, I have several friends who choose to spend their money on all these bright colored graffitti style designs and phrases such as, Raised in the Ghetto, or The Ghetto States of America( with an eagle with a pick in its head), some of them may just like the design or the style, but for me its more about the meaning and the overall thought. If anyone can answer my question or has some thoughts, I would love to hear about it.

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Living in Southern California, Mexican culture is a huge part of our lives, everything from the food, art, cars and everything else with the Spanish Culture. I appreciate it all and love being so close to another culture that has so much to offer. From all of us here at Clazik, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Cinco de Mayo, please have a great time and remember to be safe!

Story of my drinking career

Let me tell ya ’bout my best friend

Most of you know Shane, he’s been with Clazik since the very beginning…  Actually he is half the reason Clazik had a beginning.  Anyway’s Shane recently got involved with Nitro Circus crew, I’m sure most of you have heard of Nitro Circus, either through the hit MTV show or through world famous dare devil and multi-talented athlete, Travis Pastrana.  Shane started hanging with them a few months back, mainly just setting up ramps and what not, until they realized he had little bit of talent mixed with pure stupidity.  Shane has been recruited for their first world wide tour in Australia for 6 weeks where he will be riding a bicycle and big wheel on the mega ramp, along with a 3 person motorcycle backflip.  This past Tuesday a few of his close friends got together at the Brigantine, for their famous fish tacos and continued the night at his house, just hanging out and playing some drinking games.  It was a great night with good friends and an awesome way to spend our last night with Shane.  Here’s to Shane, we wish the best for him, and hope he doesn’t get lost/stranded/ or die in Australia(for those of you who personally know Shane, you know I’m slightly serious about that) Check out the tour here, and be sure to watch for it on Fuel TV in the next couple of months, Shane’s suitcase was loaded down with supply of Clazik shirts which we here are hoping to spot on TV.

Group shot before we left the restaurant.
